MEDIATORS ACROSS BARBADOS are now better equipped to solve disputes.

This is thanks to a special mediation refresher course which was held recently by the Improved Access To Justice In the Caribbean (IMPACT) in association with the Supreme Court of Barbados at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre (LESC).

Regional project director for IMPACT Justice Professor Velma Newton said the project was in its fourth year and had three major components.

These areas were the drafting of modern legislation, legal profession upgrading and also training people in means of alternative mediation. (AD)
