Seven injured in accidents in St Philip and St James

SEVEN PEOPLE WERE INJURED in two separate accidents which occurred late Saturday night and early Sunday morning.

Four people were injured at Oldbury Road, St Philip around 1 a.m. in the two-car collision.

They complained of pain about the body and were all taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) for treatment.

One car was driven by 21-year-old Akkeem Lashley of Massiah Street, St John. The other was driven by 19-year-old Krish Payne of Rose Gate, St John who was accompanied by 16-year-old Donte Dear of Massiah Street in the same parish.

Meanwhile, one male and two females were involved in the second accident where a car collided with a utility pole around 11 p.m. Saturday. The car caught afire and was destroyed.

Driver Raphael Jordan, 23, of Husbands, St James received bruises to his left hand and sought private medical attention.

His two unnamed female passengers, aged 21 and 22, complained of pain to the head and neck, and were both transported to the QEH by ambulance for medical attention.

One fire tender with six officers responded to the scene.

Police confirmed there was also another accident at Waterford, St Michael involving two cars, while a car and a van also collided at My Lord’s Hill, St Michael. (PR/SAT)
