Driver injured in accident

THE ELDERLY DRIVER of a car was injured this morning when his vehicle overturned after colliding with a minibus.

The accident occurred around 9:20 a.m. along Welches Road at its junction with Hythe Gardens, Christ Church.

Eighty-three-year-old Mark Millington had to be freed from his vehicle by personnel from the Barbados Fire Service.

He complained of pain to his right leg, hands and head and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. His condition is listed as stable.

The minibus was driven by 66-year-old Albert Hollingsworth of Brittons Hill, St Michael.

Neither he nor his passengers reported injuries. (PR/NB)
