Sno-cone vendor stabbed

POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING a stabbing incident which occurred around 5:50 p.m. yesterday in the area of Browne’s Beach, St Michael. 

It resulted in a 23-year-old St Philip resident Shamar Maynard receiving a stab wound to his upper back and a laceration to his hand. 

Preliminary investigations suggest Maynard was plying his trade as a sno-cone vendor when he was approached by a group of men and became involved in a verbal altercation.  

The group of men subsequently attacked him. 

Maynard was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance where he was treated and discharged.
