ST GEORGE SECONDARY SCHOOL is shaping up to be the next fight for the Barbados Secondary Teachers’ Union (BSTU).

With effluent from an overflowing sewage well leaking onto the compound and with student-on-student as well as student-on teacher violence a serious problem, according to BSTU president Mary Redman, the union plans to fight just as hard for the teachers there as it would for those at any another other educational facility.

Speaking at the BSTU’s annual general meeting at Harrison College yesterday, Redman said she saw first-hand the bits of toilet tissue and smelt the overflowing well in the school’s yard when she visited the compound. (HLE)
