Two remanded on cannabis charges

TWO PEOPLE HAVE been remanded to prison after being arrested and charged separately for a number of drug-related offences.

They are 39-year-old Rodney Omar Byer of Airy Hill, St George and Makeba Nititu Henry, 26, of Fairy Valley, Christ Church.

Both were arrested after police executed search warrants at their homes yesterday.

Byer was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis, possession of cannabis with intent to supply, trafficking, cultivation and possession of apparatus.

The cannabis weighed 9.5 kilogrammes and had an estimated street value of $38 000.

Henry was accused of unlawful possession of cannabis, possession of cannabis with intent to supply, trafficking and possession of apparatus.

These drugs weighed 21 grammes and had a street value of $105.

Byer and Henry appeared before Chief Magistrate Christopher Birch in the District ‘C’ Magistrates’ Court yesterday and were both remanded to reappear in the District ‘B’ Court on May 19. (PR/NB)
