JACK FRANCIS is strategically lining up his pieces to capture a top spot in draughts.
During a recent interview with NATION SPORT the world-rated draughts veteran said he was confident he would capture titles in the upcoming ACF National Tournament and the World Checker Draughts Federation world qualifying tournament in the United States.
“My number one aim is to win. I want to become the US national champion. I’m not interested in Jack Francis being number two at US nationals or number three,” he said.
However, he revealed that the win would be even more certain if he received sponsorship early.
“Based on statistics, I can say if I get the sponsorship funds early, I would win these tournaments. The only concern is how soon the sponsorship can be guaranteed.” (RG)
