Mum: Why did my son die in cell?

ANGELA BEST closes her eyes and tries to talk, but has to pause for a moment to hold back the tears.

Then she becomes angry, refusing to believe that her first-born son would have done the unthinkable, and taken his own life.

Best, 63, is calling on the authorities to explain the circumstances surrounding the death of Corey Best in police custody at the Oistins Police Station last Thursday.

Police say the 34-year-old used his jeans to hang himself inside a holding cell.

But his mother isn’t buying that explanation.
