JUSTIN GREAVES displayed his all-round cricketing brilliance with a penetrative spell of medium pace bowling to help Barbados Pride gain a big first innings lead against Jamaica Scorpions on the second day of their Digicel Regional 4-Day tenth round contest at Kensington Oval yesterday.

Resuming on 297 for six, Barbados posted 377 and then claimed a sizeable first innings lead of 153 when Jamaican were dismissed for 224 exactly at the scheduled close of play.

Wicketkeeper/batsman Devon Thomas hit a purposeful half-century, but the work of Greaves, who first made an impact in the match with a maiden first-class century on the opening day, proved more impactful in earning his side the advantage.

Greaves, who bowled first change, took three for 40 but it was in his initial burst immediately after lunch that the critical damage was done. (PH)
