Barbados to compete in World Relays this weekend

OLYMPIAN RAMON GITTENS will spearhead a five-member Barbados team to the IAAF/BTC World Relays in The Bahamas over the weekend.

The others are 2015 CARIFTA sprint champion Mario Burke who is now at the University of Houston; 2017 CARIFTA Games 100 metres silver medallist Jaquone Hoyte, Olympian Burkheart Ellis Jr and NACAC bronze medallist Nicholas Deshong.

The team will be managed and coached by Andrew Simpson.

Barbados have been drawn in lane eight in the third and final heat of the men’s 4×100 metres.

Levi Cadogan and Shane Brathwaite, who previously represented Barbados at the Relays, are unavailable. (EZS)
