Soldiers lose battle

BARBADOS DEFENCE FORCE Sports Programme (BDFSP) were dealt a stinging blow by Rendezvous, succumbing to a 2-1 defeat in the Barbados Football Association’s Digicel Premier League on Saturday night.

Goals from Rommel Bynoe and Ray Snagg were enough to claim a hard-fought three points at the Wildey Astroturf for third-placed Rendezvous. DeCarlo Jemmott provided the sole goal for the joint leaders.

In another game, champions UWI got the better of high-flying Notre Dame 2-0 in an ill-tempered affair that included three dismissals. Ranaldo Bailey and Mario Harte saw red for UWI in the 50th and 54th minutes, respectively, and Zeco Edmee in the 50th minute for Notre Dame.

A Corey “Santa” Barrow brace – a 20th minute penalty and a 79th minute strike – ultimately decided the encounter.
