Records tumble at BADD drag meet

RECORDS tumbled as drivers settled the Goodyear Tyres/Courtesy Garage Launch Control 2 of the Barbados Association of Dragsters and Drifters (BADD) at Bushy Park last Sunday.

The event formed part of Glassesco John “Tiny” Harrison Memorial Race Meet organised by Bushy Park Motor Sport Inc. (BPMSI).

It began at qualifying on Saturday when Kevin Griffith, in a turbocharged Suzuki Swift GTi posted a new mark of 8.147 seconds for front wheel drive cars.

Jimmy Small also lowered Suleiman “Sol” Esuf’s four-wheel drive record of 6.288 at Launch Control 1 to 6.282 seconds at the wheel of the Robert Bishop-prepared Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VII. (TT)
