No money for stadium work

THE WILDEY GYMNASIUM seems close to completion.

But the major National Stadium project is yet to get off the ground as Government still has not found funding to build a state-of-the-art $150 million venue.

Minister of Sports Stephen Lashley made the revelation on Wednesday during a meeting with sporting federations at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.

“Each time I speak to the question of when the stadium will start I always say that we have to get the funding first. We have not yet secured the funding. The Ministry of Finance is still looking for sources of funding,” Lashley said.
