THE CAVE-IN at Arch Cot Terrace instantly came to the mind of Annmarie Browne, who recently noticed a gaping hole in her backyard.
The 2007 tragedy in which the Shalom Apartment Complex at the Brittons Hill, St Michael, plunged into a cave below claimed five lives, and Browne is hoping that history does not repeat itself.
The 42-year old woman who lives at Arthur’s Land, Tweedside Road, St Michael said she noticed the hole on March 16. However, since then she said the land had continued to give away, making the hole much bigger.
The mother of three told the WEEKEND NATION that she has been renting the property since 2009, so it was only natural that she brought it to the attention of her landlord, who could not offer her any solution. (TG)
