THE BARBADOS SECONDARY TEACHERS’ UNION (BSTU) will launch a full investigation into why some of its members withdrew their services from a number of schools over a 48-hour period.
At least seven secondary schools across the island were affected because of a lack of teachers, some of whom had withdrawn their services from Thursday. The move led to some of the schools ending classes prematurely both Wednesday and yesterday.
Grantley Adams Memorial School, Christ Church Foundation, The Lodge School, Queen’s College, St George Secondary, Alleyne School, Springer Memorial School and Combermere were some of the schools reportedly affected.
When contacted yesterday, no principal would comment on how their respective school was affected. (BA)
