THOSE IN THE Fire Service who were in line for promotion now have a chance to move up the ranks.
Attorney General Adriel Brathwaite revealed yesterday that the long-standing civil suit that had stalled recruitment and promotions had been settled.
Efforts to reach Guyson Mayers, the last attorney on record as representing some of the officers, were unsuccessful.
Brathwaite, who was speaking in the House of Assembly on a bill to vest a parcel of land at Arch Hall, St Thomas, in the National Housing Corporation, admitted the Fire Service had been plagued by a shortage of staff as a result of being unable to recruit new members. (HLE)
