INCLEMENT WEATHER THROUGHOUT yesterday will definitely add to the suspense of today’s opening day of the Barbados Turf Club’s second racing season, the Betting Booth Staff Appreciation Raceday, which rolls off at 2:15 p.m. at the Garrison Savannah.
The card includes seven races ranging from a test of stamina in the opener to sheer blistering speed in the final event.
In that race, the feature Betting Booth Staff Trophy Handicap at 5:25 p.m., Spa Sprint winner Wild Cat Tea and Lucky Adventure renew their rivalry with the scoreline reading one win each.
Sir David Seale’s Forsaken One is tipped to take full advantage of this 1 100 metres race on two conditions – the non-acceptance of Just A Fashion for the event now means that Wild Cat Tea and Lucky Adventure will both see a weight increase of ten pounds to shoulder the 130 pounds top impost. The big question is, are they both 20 pounds better than Forsaken One? (LY)
