TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO sporting icon Brian Lara has a vision that the cricket academy named after him will be a hub for the development of the next generation of star players from the twin-island republic.
Lara, speaking in front of thousands of fans at the opening ceremony of the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba on Friday night, also expressed his gratitude to all who played a part in bringing his vision of the academy to life.
“Tonight, this moment is about expressing my sincere gratitude to all concerned,” he told the audience.
“First of all, I will start with the Almighty. He has given me an opportunity to experience another momentous time in my life. He has also given us great weather, some for the farmers early on and now for the cricketers,” said Lara. (Trinidad Express)
