EDMONTON – Veteran Barbadian Quincy Welch and Jamaican Dane Nelson both rode braces to steal the headlines on the eight-race card at Northlands Park on Sunday.

Welch, who produced a triple on Friday’s programme, was once again in superb form with winners in race four aboard favourite Moon King and in race six with another odds-on bet Sir Edmund.

The experienced Nelson, meanwhile, took honours in race two with 3-1 chance Holler at the Moon and in the day’s final race aboard 12-1 outsider N.Y. Smoke.

The day was a successful one for the Caribbean as Trinidadian Keishan Balgobin also found the winners enclosure in race one with favourite Rising River over 3-1/2 furlongs while Barbadian Kyle Carter paired with 5-1 bet Macho North to capture race three over six furlongs. (CMC)
