PINE HILL ST BARNABAS crept to a 34-32 victory over the Barbados Under-21 team to move to a 3-1 when the Division 1 netball league continued on Monday night at the Netball Stadium.

Both teams were guilty of a subpar performance with numerous turnovers and hot and cold efforts by the shooters leading to the low returns on the scoreboard.

Ironically, the strong defence by Shonette Bruce and Shonte Seale for the winners and Under-21’s Lanelle Brown, Akeena Stoute and Xhane Greenidge helped to keep the scoring sluggish at 11-8, 23-14 and 34-32.

After taking four minutes to score their first goal, the Under-21s should have edged their opponents in the final quarter after inserting a more productive midcourt and adding senior team player Sheniqua Thomas to the attack to replace a horribly out-of-sorts Shaquilla Davis. (KB)
