Darian King will be ready for his French Open debut next week, having said he has bounced back from illness and poor form in time to put in a good performance at the qualifying rounds of Roland Garros.

Barbados’ top-ranked tennis pro was full of confidence in a telephone interview with WEEKENDSPORT yesterday despite riding a current four-match losing streak on clay.

“I’ve been putting in a lot of work on improving my movement on clay and I’m getting better in terms of my balance, so I can say I’m definitely prepared for playing Roland Garros as this is something I don’t want to miss,” reasoned the 25-year-old baseliner. (JM)
