Glue key in hockey fix

WHEN IT’S NOT one thing it’s another.

The laying of the new hockey turf has experienced yet another hiccup, albeit minor, as the Barbados Olympic Association (BOA) is acquiring new adhesive to get the sand-based surface in place for the August Barbados Hockey Festival.

BOA director Cammie Burke disclosed the latest progress after revealing that Barbados had already received the 240-tonne shipment of sand needed to complete the laying of the turf.

“They sent the turf two years ago and that glue has expired now, so we have to purchase some fresh glue over the weekend, and that should take about ten days coming out of Scotland,” said Burke. (JM)
