PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITAL and Lords will contest the inaugural final of the Barbados Cricket Association’s Twenty20 Shield at Kensington Oval on Whit Monday, June 5.
In the two semi-finals at the same venue yesterday, Lords defeated BRC by six wickets with two balls to spare in the morning match, and Psychiatric Hospital triumphed over JCB Boscobel by 17 runs in the afternoon encounter.
Lords, set 128 to win after BRC scored 127 for five, began the last over needing six runs for victory. With the fourth ball of the over, Shonquono Stanford struck his second six to seal the result.
Stanford’s unbeaten 34 proved vital in the end even though openers Mario Boyce and Brandon Thompson had posted 78 for the first wicket. (HE)
