CHAMPIONS SAGICOR UWI roughed up Police to record a third successive victory in the Barbados Cricket Association’s Sagicor General Twenty20 competition yesterday.

UWI romped to a comprehensive win by eight wickets after dismissing their opponents for an inadequate 97 in 19.4 overs and racing to 98 for two with as many as 6.1 overs to spare in the first match of a double-header at Trents.

Police ran into problems from as early as the second over when they lost the first wicket. Only an eighth-wicket stand of 34 between Rasheed Padmore and Kharan Bhola spared them even further blushes.

Skipper Nicholas Kirton (4-15) and pacer Chemar Holder (3-14), supported by veteran player/coach Ryan Hinds (2-15), made light of Police after they were invited to bat. (WH)
