SENIOR CITIZENS homes are beefing up security on all fronts.
This was disclosed by president of the Barbados Elderly Care Association Maureen Ward, who said recommendations were made to its members following an incident last year where a caretaker was filmed physically and verbally abusing an elderly woman at a home.
Ward, who was speaking on the sidelines of a home owners seminar held at CGI Building, Collymore Rock on Wednesday, said that since then there had not been any similar incidents and she hoped that the homeowners were now vigilant.
“ . . . A lot of them have since put in cameras so that they can keep an eye on situations in the dining area, kitchen and all around, so that they can monitor the behaviour of the carers to the clients,” she said. (TG)
