Belle Pumping Station shut down for urgent repairs

RESIDENTS IN PARTS of Christ Church and St Michael may experience outages or low water pressure today.

The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) has shut down the Belle Pumping Station in St Michael to facilitate urgent repairs. 

Water Tankers will be dispatched to assist essential services first and the BWA is urging residents and businesses in these areas to immediately store an adequate amount of water.

Areas which may be affected include:

In St Michael: The City of Bridgetown, Belleville, Carrington Village, Belmont Road, Halls Road, Martindale’s Road, Constitution Road, Roebuck Street, The Bay Land, Clapham, Tichbourne, Chapel Gap, The Pine, Wildey, Waterford, Bush Hall, Spooner’s Hill, White Hall, Grazettes, Cave Hill, Codrington and the surrounding areas.

In Christ Church: St Matthias, the South Coast from Hastings to Oistins, Fort George Heights, Britton’s Hill, Marine Gardens, Rendezvous Gardens, Welches, Sargeant’s Village, Vauxhall, Sheraton and surrounding districts.

Work crews are working assiduously to rectify the problem and the Barbados Water Authority regrets any inconvenience to its valued customers. (PR/SAT)
