MOTOR SPORT fans across the island will soon be set to see the introduction of night-time racing at the Bushy Park race track.

This was confirmed by operations manager at the St Philip facility, Amy Willis, in a telephone interview with NATION SPORT yesterday.

“At the moment all the foundations are in, and what we are doing now is focusing on the shipment with the lighting poles and all the other material that will come together. We don’t have a set deadline as to when it will be completed, but we definitely are looking to introduce night races,” she said.

After this weekend’s Sol Rally Barbados extravaganza, the biggest rally event is Barbados Festival Of Speed set for October, for which Willis hopes the lights will be in place. (RA)
