WI Women ready for 50-over game

THE WINDIES aren’t feeling the pressure of repeating the last set of heroics.

So says Women’s head coach Vasbert Drakes, who is trying to manage the team’s high hopes heading into the Women’s Cricket World Cup following last year’s historic World T20 title.

Drakes made the comments before the squad’s departure for a two-week camp in England ahead of the June 24 start to the 11th edition of the women’s tourney.

“Pressure is something that you create on yourself and being involved in cricket so long, my job is to manage our expectations well although obviously it is a competition we want to do well in,” said Drakes. (JM)
