THE BARBADOS GEMS just keep on shining.

Earlier tonight, Barbados’ senior netball team defeated the Trinidad and Tobago Calypso Girls 46-32 at the National Cycling Centre in Couva.

Barbados took a 22-16 half-time lead, building on an 11-6 start.

When former captain Latonia Blackman came on in the third quarter to lead the centre court, Barbados increased the lead to 34-26.

As they did against Jamaica, the shooting has been a hallmark of the team, with goal shooter Shonica Wharton scoring 37 goals from 40 attempts and goal attack Sheniqua Thomas nine from 14.

The second Test in the three-match series will be played tomorrow night. (SAT)
