Rally partners revving for hat-trick

JEFFREY PANTON and Michael Fennell Jr are more than driver and co-driver. The two Jamaicans form a team that has had its fair share of highs and lows.

The rally duo, who will be looking to secure a hat-trick in this weekend’s Sol Rally Barbados with their award-winning Ford Focus WRC06, have been partners for the past ten years or so and, according to Fennell, like every couple they have their ups and downs.

“Luckily, we don’t have to go to counselling for our issues; we do well and the results show it.

We know each other competitively and have been friends for a very long time. Jeff’s previous co-driver went away, and if you speak to his father, he would say he’s been trying to get the two of us together for years. We did one-off events, but once we got going we just continued from there,” he told WEEKENDSPORT(RA)
