OUTSPOKEN GOVERNMENT MINISTER Donville Inniss says his recent critical remarks about the Budget was not a case of taking a swipe at his colleagues, but at the “seriously flawed” national budgetary process.
He made the comment yesterday, days after telling the House of Assembly during the Budget Debate that he could not give 100 per cent support to the measures announced by Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler last Tuesday.
Yesterday, while touring BMEX at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, Inniss, the Minister of Industry, Commerce and International Business, said he was not seeking to bash Sinckler.
“The budgetary process in my mind continues to be seriously flawed. It is centred too much around the Minister of Finance or the Ministry of Finance. This is not any criticism of my friend Minister Sinckler and his staff; I’ve quietly raised these issues in the last couple of years.” (AD)
