THERE HAVE BEEN marked improvements in both Mathematics and English in this year’s Barbados Secondary Schools’ Entrance Examination (BSSEE), popularly known as the Common Entrance Examination.
During a press conference at the Ministry of Education this morning, Minister Ronald Jones revealed the overall national mean in Maths had improved from 48.30 in 2016, to 55 this year.
The overall national mean in English rose to 70.4 in 2017, up from 67.92 in 2016 and 67.11 in 2015.
Additionally, in this year’s exam, 13 students comprising four males and nine females scored full marks on the Mathematics paper, compared to three students in 2016 and seven in 2015.
