A TRANSPORT BOARD bus driver and nine of his 11 passengers were injured last night when the bus collided with the “cut rock” along Parris Hill, St Joseph.
The accident occurred around 10:15 p.m.
The bus was driven by Anthony McClean, 45, of Marley Vale, St Philip, who had to be freed from the vehicle by personnel from the Barbados Fire Service.
Police say McClean was driving down the hill when the wet conditions caused the bus to skid.
The driver received a laceration to his leg while the other injured people complained of pain to the head, neck, back, and hands.
McClean, a 36-year-old woman and her one-year-old son were transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance. They were treated and discharged.
The other injured people opted to seek private medical attention.
Two fire tenders and eight fire officers under the command of Divisional Officer Henderson Patrick responded to the scene. (PR/NB)
