BARBADOS’ WOMEN’S UNDER-17 football team has qualified for this year’s CONCACAF Caribbean Under-17 Women’s World Cup qualifying tournament.
The draw took place Tuesday at the CONCACAF headquarters in Miami Beach, Florida.
Barbados joined 18 other CFU national teams who entered the qualifying competition, which consisted of two stages.
The local lasses were drawn alongside Guyana and Cuba for a position in Group D to challenge for a spot in the finals. They play in their group from August 9-13.
Trinidad and Tobago, US Virgin Islands, Grenada and Curacao are in Group A, with Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Anguilla and Bahamas being drawn in Group B.
Bermuda, St Lucia, Antigua and Barbuda and Aruba settled for Group C, while St Vincent and the Grenadines, St Kitts and Nevis and Jamaica are in Group E. (RA)
