THE SEEMINGLY INVINCIBLE Signia UWI Blackbirds soared to another victory in the Barbados Netball Association’s Division 1 on Wednesday night.
Playing at the Netball Stadium, Blackbirds, who won every senior title last year, kept on course for a repeat by thrashing C.O. Williams Rangers 46-29.
Goal shooter Shonica Wharton was outstanding, netting 39 of her 45 attempts at the ring while goal attack Sheniqua Thomas shot seven from 13 attempts.
As usual the Blackbirds’ midcourt artistry was their anchor. They started with Damisha Croney at centre, Rieah Holder at wing attack and Teresa Howell at wing defence with Kashera Corbin and Shanice Wharton in the defensive circle. (RG)
