MARGO LORDE scored an impressive come-from-behind victory on Saturday night to advance to the money round of the Touch Of Class Women’s Road Tennis Tournament.

Lorde, whose usual facial expression while playing reflects tremendous agony, rose from a game down and 11-14 in the second game to put out a fighting Judy Rouse 16-21, 21-16, 21-9 in an A Class contest at the Deighton “Pa” Roach Tennis Facility in Bush Hall.

With her husband, daughter and son behind her, Rouse seemed on course to upset the more experienced Lorde. That was until Lorde began to exploit Rouse’s weakness on the backhand to the maximum.

Earlier, the novice section provided lots of excitement, with basketballer Sade Clarke being extended before edging Janelle Austin 17-21, 21-15, 21-12. (KB)
