THIRTY-TWO SQUASH players will have the opportunity to compete for US$5 000 in the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc./Tourism Development Corporation Barbados Squash Open, which is being staged by the Professional Squash Association (PSA).

This was revealed by immediate past president of the Barbados Squash Association, Monty Cumberbatch, during a press conference at the Barbados Olympic Association’s Wildey headquarters yesterday.

“The overall prize money will be shared among the 32 competitors, so the winner I think will get something like US$800, and the rest divided. Once you enter the tournament you are guaranteed a dollar value winning,” he explained.

This year has seen an increase from last year’s 28 registered players, and the second edition of the tournament is set to be held from June 27 to 30 at the Barbados Squash Club, Marine Gardens, Christ Church. (RA)
