Milton Lynch chess champs

Share post:

MILTON LYNCH ‘A’ dethroned Charles F. Broome ‘A’ to emerge champions in the Massy United Insurance Primary Schools’ Chess Championship last Saturday.

Showing more depth, 2015 champions Milton Lynch ‘A’ moved from third place at the start of the final day of the competition to register three impressive victories to regain the title in the six-round championship at the St Michael School.

Milton Lynch ‘A’, comprising Christian Gill, Kimahri Holder, Tequon Pinder, Kevion Perch, Nicodi Gibson and Damari Layne, brushed aside People’s Cathedral ‘B’ 10-0 in the fourth round, Wills Primary 8-2 in the fifth round and St Jude’s 8-2 in the final round to end up as comfortable winners.

Their only blemish was a 6-4 loss to Charles F. Broome ‘A’ in the third round the previous Saturday and the triumph followed their success in the annual Providence School championship in April when they also unseated their rivals as champions. (HG)
