BARBADIANS ARE BEING asked to rally around Alana Herbert who is currently vying to be the 2017 Toronto Carnival Guide cover girl.
The 22-year old is the only Bajan in the mix of 23 other regional and international models.
Herbert, a former Harrison College student, told NATION Online modelling has been her passion since she started at age 13.
And she said it would be a major achievement for herself as well as Barbados if she was chosen as the cover model.
Toronto Carnival Guide distributes 150 000 magazine across the city in support of its Caribbean Festival, giving readers ideas about where to eat, what to see and what to do.
Online voting began days ago and will end in just over 24 hours.
Currently, Herbert is in second place.
