IT MATTERS TO MARIA: Couple upset by ten-year delay

TEN YEARS!

That is how long it took a Barbadian woman who resides in the United States to get a large boat removed from land which she bought.

Brenda Alert and her husband Roy have been back and forth between the US and Barbados since 2007 trying to get the man from whom they bought the land, Mortimer Clarke, a former attorney at law turned fishing boat owner, to move his boat but to no avail.

After going to court on about three occasions, the boat was finally dismantled and carried away last Thursday – not by Clarke, but through a court order. (MB)
