Pride of Villa edge Firebirds

GUARDIAN GROUP Pride Of Villa held off a determined Spooners Hill Firebirds and rallied to a nail-biting 52-51 triumph in their Division 1 netball match Monday night at the Netball Stadium.

They led 16-13 at the end of the first quarter and that seemed appropriate as they showed lots of urgency from the first centre pass.

They were swift and combined well in getting the ball to their shooters.

After a slow start, the Firebirds became very competitive as they moved the ball up and down the court seeking opportunities for shooters Lydia Bishop and Kerryann Brathwaite. (AT)
