Alma Parris ‘fell short’


THE ALMA PARRIS Memorial Secondary School was simply not performing to expectations.

It was for that reason, added to which no new students were enrolling at the school, that forced the closure of the St Peter school, Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Ronald Jones disclosed yesterday.

That resulted in a decision to close the school.

Jones revealed that only 60 students were enrolled at the institution, which caters to 11-Plus low-achievers, with 2015 being the last year in which new students had registered. (RB)
