A CHRIST CHURCH MAN has been sentenced to one year in jail after pleading guilty to stealing a car, but there are 20 more charges pending after police in the Northern Division made a major breakthrough in their investigation.

Thirty-five-year-old Ryan Oneal Wickham of Enterprise Coast Road was charged with 14 counts of theft in the Northern Division, six in the South and one in Bridgetown.

He appeared before Magistrate Graveney Bannister in the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court on Saturday and is scheduled to reappear in the District ‘C’, ‘D’, ‘F’ and ‘B’ Courts between July 4 and 10.

Two other Christ Church men were also charged in connection with the thefts which were allegedly committed between April 2014 and May 2017.

Dwayne Oneal Best of Lowthers Hill, St Patricks and Shanley Stevenson Nurse of Maxwell Hill, both 36, were charged with handling stolen property.

Best and Nurse both pleaded not guilty and were granted bail to the sum of $15 000 each with one surety, to reappear in court on July 4 and 10. (PR/SAT)
