Bajan Tridents draw with St Lucia

THE BARBADOS Tridents staged a comeback yesterday to earn a hard-fought 1-1 draw against St Lucia in their second match of the Windward Islands Football Tournament. 

The match, previously scheduled for Sunday, was postponed as a result of a waterlogged Fond Playing Field and subsequently switched to the Kirani James Athletics Stadium. 

Captain Kurt Frederick, who plays for W Connection in Trinidad and Tobago Pro League, gave St Lucia a 1-0 lead in the 35th minute when his left-footed shot sailed through the goalkeeper’s hands.

While both teams played a defensive game, St Lucia maintained greater ball possession throughout the match. (RA)
