IT IS NOW EASIER for Barbadians to get a taste of France in the Caribbean.

On June 15, LIAT introduced a non-stop flight between Barbados and Martinique’s Aimé Césaire International Airport. It operates on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Previously, travellers from Barbados had a layover in St Lucia but now the trip takes less than 45 minutes.

LIAT’s corporate communications manager Shavar Maloney said the regional carrier saw great potential on the route. He was speaking to the MIDWEEK NATION in Martinique during a recent familiarisation trip for Barbadian and Trinidadian travel agents and media personnel.

Maloney said the new route would allow for several connections along LIAT’s network. (NB)
