TWO BERMUDIAN MEN were remanded to prison on Tuesday after pleading guilty to four drug-related charges.

The charges stem from the seizure of 171 pounds of cannabis on a boat off the shores of Barbados on Sunday.

Fifty-one-year-old Paul Andrew Bell and 45-year-old Shawn Antoine Simmons were arrested during an operation conducted by members of the Drug Squad, Police Marine Unit, and the Barbados Coast Guard.

They appeared before Magistrate Wanda Blair in the Holetown Magistrates’ Court charged with unlawful possession of cannabis, possession with intent to supply trafficking and importation.

Bell and Simmons will return to court at a later date for sentencing. (PR/NB)
