A Cricket World Cup without West Indies.

Unheard of, right? Not quite.

It’s a distinct possibility come 2019.

Less than two months before the eight automatic qualifiers are confirmed, it looks almost certain the champions of the first two World Cups will have to book their ticket to England the hard way.

Ranked at No. 9 before the September 1 deadline for a guaranteed place, West Indies look likely to be involved in a qualifier involving Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and Ireland early next year to determine the last two teams. (HG)
