THE BARBADOS METEOROLOGICAL Services is monitoring the progress of a tropical wave over the central Atlantic with its axis near 32/33W at 2 p.m. this afternoon.

At present, model guidance is suggesting some slow development is possible over the next few days as the tropical wave moves westward at 17 to 23 mph towards the Lesser Antilles.

Regardless of development, some moderate to heavy showers, thunderstorms and gusty winds are likely to spread across Barbados late Thursday into Friday as the wave moves across the region.

Marine conditions are also expected to deteriorate around the same period.

This information will be updated at 4 p.m. tomorrow or sooner if conditions warrant.
