THE BARBADOS Meteorological office is advising Barbadians a tropical wave is approaching the island and the affects could be felt within the hour.

Meteorologist Wayne McGeary said Barbados could expect light to moderate showers and possible thunderstorms but there was no need to panic, as it was customary for such systems to affect the island at this time.

He said there was nothing to indicate excessive shower activity even though the potential exists.

McGeary said if there was any need to issue warnings, the meteorological office would do so promptly. (CA)
