CCTV cameras ‘a must’

WHILE MANY day care centres across Barbados are reluctant to install CCTV cameras, a security expert believes such a device is “absolutely necessary”.

“The use of the cameras serve an organisation at two levels – one, it can help with security issues as it relates to persons entering and leaving the building, and secondly, as a safety mechanism for subsequent investigative purposes.

“Because you can have allegations of things occurring on the premises, which would need to be verified, and this is where the recorded data could help assist in those enquiries which have to be carried out,” he noted. (MB)
